Whitecourt RCMP are on the lookout for a man wanted on aggravated assault and other charges following an assault of two individuals at a Whitecourt hotel earlier this month, and authorities believe the suspect was last seen in the Grande Prairie area.

Telford Randall Howe is wanted on several charges after police were called to a hotel near Highway 43 just before 1 a.m. on April 16 on a report that the two occupants of one of the rooms were in need of medical assistance. A 46-year-old female and a 39-year-old male from Medicine Hat were transported to hospital for non-life threatening injuries soon after arrival.

An investigation into the incident then led to a warrant for the 39-year-old Howe’s arrest. Howe, also known by the names “Gremlin” and “G”, has been charged with the following:

  • Aggravated assault
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Commit an indictable offence while disguised
  • Possession of a weapon for a purpose dangerous to the public

Though he was last believed to be in the Grande Prairie area, Howe’s whereabouts is currently unknown and police are looking for any information that could lead to his arrest. Anyone with information is encouraged to come forward to the Whitecourt RCMP at 780-779-5900, or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

Police say you should not approach Howe as he is considered armed and dangerous.
