The Grande Prairie Minor Hockey Association has named Brett Stephenson their new Technical Director.

Stephenson brings a wealth of experience to the club and has spent lots of time helping in the hockey community.

In years past he’s served as an Assistant Coach for the GPAC Major Midget AAA Storm, spent time volunteering as a scout for the AJHL Grande Prairie Storm, volunteered as a Coach Mentor for all teams in GPAC, and also assisted with Grande Prairie Minor Hockey as their Coach Mentor where he would observe and support coaches with practices and facilitate communication between parents, players and coaching staff.

He also served as a coach with Power Plus Hockey Skating for their summer programs and skill development camps offered in the Peace Country.

Stephenson spent time as an Assistant Coach for the Grande Prairie Storm in 1997 and served as the Head Coach and General Manager of the Bonnyville Pontiac’s from 2000-2002.

During his time as a coach, Stephenson has worked with several professional coaches including Mike Babcock, Cory Clouston, and Bill Peters.

Stephenson says he is looking forward to the opportunity to provide guidance to the coaches and players of Grande Prairie Minor Hockey.
