Vipers forward lands spot on American university team

A Sundown Oilfield Services Sexsmith Vipers forward has committed to an American university for the upcoming season.

Jordan Bartlett will be joining the Marian University Sabres based in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.

Bartlett is from Grande Prairie. He recorded 10 goals and 23 assists in 33 regular-season games with the Vipers in 2019-20 and played in three playoff games.

Three other Northwest Junior Hockey League graduates are already with the Sabres.

That includes former County of Grande Prairie JDA Kings goalie, and Sexsmith product, Will McCreight and a pair of ex-Fort St. John Huskies, defenceman Jarod Lang and goalie Jonathan Bateman.

The Division II school says in its Twitter bio. that it has won the regular season and conference championship three times in the last four years and went to the 2019 national tournament.
