GPREP demobilizes flooding operations, renews COVID-19 State of Local Emergency

The Grande Prairie Regional Emergency Partnership announced Wednesday afternoon that they have demobilized flooding operations and have removed any flood-related States of Local Emergency that previously were in place.

Overland flooding was occurring throughout Birch Hills County, the MD of Greenview and the Town of Sexsmith over the last week. Water levels have since gone down following the response from GPREP and other organizations.

Residents are reminded to continue to abide by signs, barricades and direction of local authorities.

GPREP says they will continue to be in contact with regional municipalities to monitor local conditions.
