Valleyview woman charged after ramming police vehicles following pursuit

A Valleyview woman has been charged after she allegedly rammed into police vehicles after she failed to stop for RCMP on the north side of Grande Prairie last week.

Grande Prairie RCMP noticed a suspicious vehicle shortly after 4 a.m. on April 29. Police attempted to stop the vehicle, but the suspect attempted to evade police.

The suspect drove eventually drove into a cul-de-sac in the Mountview while fleeing from police, where RCMP attempted to establish a road block. The suspect then rammed the occupied police vehicles, which also caused significant damage to other nearby vehicles and property.

The driver, 26-year-old Becki Mustus of Valleyview, was then arrested at the scene shortly after. A male and female passenger in the vehicle were also arrested following the incident.

Mustus is now facing charges, which include:

  • Flight from Police
  • Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
  • Assault on a police officer with a weapon (x2)
  • Fail to stop after collision
  • Breach of conditions of release order
  • Operate uninsured motor vehicle
  • Operate motor vehicle without a licence

Mustus has been remanded into custody and is slated to appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court on Monday.
