Chuckegg Creek wildfire hot spot starts burning again
May 4, 2020 | 2:38 PM
Fire watchers say a hot spot on the site of the Chuckegg Creek wildfire flared up again Sunday night.
It has burned 15 hectares and is located 10 kilometres north of Highway 697, north of Blue Hills and north of the Peace River.
The wildfire information office in High Level says no communities or homes are at risk. Firefighters, supported by five helicopters and air tankers, are working on getting it put out.
Chuckegg Creek is still considered an active wildfire after burning over 350,000 hectares last year and forcing the evacuations of several communities.
