Fire in Peace River destroys garage, no injuries reported

A structure fire in the South End of Peace River was extinguished Saturday night, but not before causing significant damage to an old vehicle garage.
The Peace River Fire Department responded to the structure fire at an old forestry site shortly after 8 p.m. on Saturday, May 2.
Upon arrival, fire crews discovered one of the outbuildings, an old garage, was fully engulfed in flames. The blaze had also caused a small grass fire nearby. Crews quickly contained the fires, but the garage was left in an unstable condition, and was later demolished.
The buildings had been vacant, and no injuries were reported.
