Suspects arrested in Maskwacis area homicide

Two people have been charged in connection to a homicide last month in the Maskwacis area.

Just after 8:15 a.m. on April 12, Maskwacis RCMP responded to a report of an unresponsive male lying on Herman-Minde Road east of Hwy 2A.

The man, 74-year-old Larry Parker of Wetaskiwin, was determined to be deceased. The investigation was taken over by RCMP Major Crimes as the death was deemed a homicide.

Kardon Ryan Demetroff, 23, was arrested on May 4 and remains in custody on a count of second-degree murder.

On May 6, Celeste Morningstar Saddleback, 26, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. She also remains in custody.
