MD of Greenview re-opens day-use areas, campgrounds set to open June 1

The MD of Greenview has officially reopened its day-use areas in the region.

Smokey Sunset Landing, Johnson Park, Moody’s Crossing, Southview PRA, Grande Cache Lake and Grovedale Fish Pond are now all open to the public and are operating at their regular park hours.

Specific guidelines have also been released for the public to follow while at the park, these include the following:

  • Physical distancing practices must be adhered to at all times.
  • Washrooms will be accessible to the public.
  • Cookhouses will be closed to the public.

The MD of Greenview has also set June 1 as their opening date for campgrounds in the area.

Johnson Park, Moody’s Crossing and Kakwa River PRA are all set to open on June 1.

The Grande Cache Municipal Campground is still waiting for Alberta Health Services approval to open.

In order to camp, you must reserve a campsite by using the Camp Reservations Canada website. Campsites will begin taking reservations on May 19.

All campsites in the region will operate at 50% capacity as per the provincial guidelines.
