An obituary on the Bear Creek Funeral Home web site says Daren Zenner died suddenly on May 13. He would have turned 49 this year.
The retired boxer grew up in Bezanson.
His obituary says he won gold at the 1988 Alberta Winter Games, then moved to Edmonton then to the U.S. to pursue his career.
He won the USBA Regional Super Middleweight championship in 1994, then won the Westchester USBA and New York State Middleweight championships in 1995.
