Physical Distancing

City enforces physical distancing on public transit

May 27, 2020 | 10:02 AM

The City of Grande Prairie is taking steps to maintain the two-metre physical distancing standard on public transportation.

The capacity on City buses has been limited to 8-to-10 riders at a time, and multiple seats on each bus have been taped off.

The public is asked to only use public transit for essential purposes and trips, which would reduce ridership numbers and allow those who need the service to access it without risk of breaking the physical distancing requirement.

The City also apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause for transit users, as they try to balance providing the service and protecting the health of the residents and community.
