Two men charged in 2019 Grande Prairie homicide, one remains at large

Alberta RCMP are requesting the public’s assistance in locating one of two men charged with first degree murder in relation to the investigation into the death of Cody Michaloski in Grande Prairie last October.

Two arrest warrants were obtained by RCMP Major Crimes in Alberta, with one man now in custody.

In October 2019, RCMP concluded that 28-year-old Cody Michaloski, who was found dead in an apartment along Poplar Drive, was murdered.

Twenty-five-year-old Benjamin Pearson, of Kelowna, was arrested on May 27, 2020 by RCMP Major Crimes in Kelowna. He is charged with first-degree murder and is now awaiting his return to Alberta for a bail hearing before the Edmonton Provincial Courts.

Now, RCMP are continuing to search for his brother, 26-year-old Adam Pearson, who is also wanted on a warrant for first-degree murder.

Adam Pearson has been known to frequent Grande Prairie and Kelowna in the past, and had previously resided in Dawson Creek, BC. However, the RCMP have exhausted their efforts in locating him, and his current whereabouts remains unknown.

Pearson is described as a Caucasian male, standing 5’9″ tall and weighing 166 pounds. He has blue eyes and red hair.

RCMP say he should not be approached, and anyone with information is asked to contact Grande Prairie RCMP, their local police, or if they wish to remain anonymous through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or submit information online through P3Tips.
