Local DIY bloggers to join in on North American renovation challenge

A local couple who run a renovation and design blog are joining an All-Star Renovation Challenge run by Jeffrey Court tile company.

Lindi and Russel Vanderschaaf run Love Create Celebrate, a DIY and home renovation blog where they offer a look into the projects they are working on, and tips for readers.

Lindi Vanderschaaf says they get six weeks to work on and finish the renovation project for the challenge, and that they originally wanted to do a bathroom project, but instead chose to create a playhouse for their children.

“We’re calling it an ‘ultimate playhouse’, because it’s going to have a little mini kitchen and living, and stuff inside with a loft, and we’re going all-out with insulating it and putting siding on it, and a little deck and everything, so, it’s going to look like a miniature house in the yard, and the kids are already really excited about it.”

She says they have worked with Jeffrey Court before, and that they were very excited to be asked to join this year’s challenge.

Updates on their progress will be given every week, and their blog can be found here. The challenge began on May 27, and will finish on July 8.

The Vanderschaaf’s are one of two Canadian teams participating in the challenge, which includes eight other competitors. The winners of the challenge will receive $5,000 US.
