Storm acquire defenceman Murphy-Johnson from Prince George of the BCHL

The Grande Prairie Storm have acquired 18-year-old defenceman Jackson Murphy-Johnson from the Prince George Spruce Kings of the BCHL.

The transaction completes the Jarin Sutton trade back on January 10, where Sutton was traded for future considerations.

Earlier in the day on Monday, Murphy-Johnson was briefly traded from the Trail Smoke Eaters to Prince George before being sent to Grande Prairie.

Last season with the Smoke Eaters, Murphy-Johnson registered five points in 38 games.

The Burnaby, B.C. native also spent two seasons playing AAA for the Vancouver NE Chiefs of the British Columbia Major Midget Hockey League.
