City of Grande Prairie adds one new case of COVID-19 Saturday

The City of Grande Prairie added one new confirmed case of COVID-19 on Saturday, bringing the total amount of active cases in the city to 12.

The new case added to the city was the only case added to the North Zone. The city remains at six recoveries in total.

Meanwhile, on Saturday the Province of Alberta added 40 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total amount of active cases in the province to 336. A rather large increase from Friday, when the province announced just seven new cases of COVID-19, which was the lowest total since March 12.

The province saw 27 people recover on Saturday.

Case totals among Peace Region municipalities as of June 6 are as follows:

  • City of Grande Prairie: 18 cases (12 active, six recovered)
  • County of Grande Prairie: Six cases (All recovered)
  • M.D. of Greenview: Two cases (Both recovered)
  • M.D. of Smoky River: 68 cases (58 recovered, ten deaths)
  • Big Lakes County: 36 cases (33 recovered, three deaths)
  • M.D. of Lesser Slave River: Five cases (All recovered)
  • Northern Sunrise County: Three cases (All recovered)
  • M.D. of Peace: Seven cases (Six recovered, one death)
  • Clear Hills County: One case (Fatal)
  • County of Northern Lights: One case (Recovered)
  • Mackenzie County: 34 cases (One active, 33 recovered)

No new deaths of COVID-19 were reported in the province. Forty-four people remain in hospital, six of those are in ICU.

In the last 24 hours, 2775 people were tested in the province.
