One more recovered COVID-19 case in Grande Prairie Thursday

Alberta Health is reporting one more recovered case of COVID-19 in the City of Grande Prairie on Thursday, as the province added 40 new cases for June 11.

That means the City of Grande Prairie now has 11 recovered cases to go with five active. There are now 379 active cases in Alberta, while 6,788 people have recovered.

Updated case numbers among Peace Region municipalities as of June 11 are as follows:

  • City of Grande Prairie: 16 cases (Five active, 11 recovered)
  • County of Grande Prairie: Seven cases (All recovered)
  • M.D. of Greenview: Three cases (All recovered)
  • M.D. of Smoky River: 67 cases (57 recovered, ten deaths)
  • Big Lakes County: 40 cases (35 recovered, five deaths)
  • M.D. of Lesser Slave River: Five cases (All recovered)
  • Northern Sunrise County: Three cases (All recovered)
  • M.D. of Peace: Six cases (All recovered)
  • Clear Hills County: One case (Active)
  • County of Northern Lights: One case (Recovered)
  • Mackenzie County: 33 cases (Two active, 31 recovered)

Two fatalities previously attributed to COVID-19 (one in the Calgary Zone and one in the South Zone) have been removed from the province’s total, meaning there are now 149 deaths attributed to the novel coronavirus as of Thursday. Sixteen people in the North Zone have died from COVID-19.

Fourty-five people are in hospital across the province as of June 11, with six in intensive care. Four people in Northern Alberta are in hospital with COVID-19 at this time.

There were 7,131 tests processed over the past 24 hours at the provincial lab, raising the total number of tests processed during the pandemic to 317,402. 22,010 people from Northern Alberta have been tested, an increase of 424 from Wednesday.
