RCMP Major Crimes investigating suspicious death near Woking

The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit has been called in to investigate a suspicious death near Woking Thursday morning.

Spirit River RCMP were called to assist EMS at around 9 a.m. June 11, after a man was found deceased along the roadside of Highway 677, west of Highway 2.

Spirit River RCMP have secured the scene and Highway 677 west of Highway 2 is closed to traffic. The road is expected to be closed for the rest of the day.

No other details have been released by RCMP as the investigation remains in the early stages.

Anyone who has dash cam footage in the area of Highway 677 in the early morning hours of June 11 is urged to provide it to Spirit River RCMP. Anyone with information about this incident is also asked to come forward to RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
