Tree maintenance along Muskoseepi Trail begins June 16

Jun 15, 2020 | 11:29 AM

Starting Tuesday, June 16, crews from the City of Grande Prairie will be removing hazards and maintaining the trees along the Muskoseepi Corridor between 68 Avenue and 84 Avenue.

Crews will be removing or modifying dead tree snags that are located close to the asphalt trail. Trees that have been evaluated as potential hazards by the City’s Certified Arborists will have their top portions either partially or entirely removed.

The crews will also be making sure that enough of the trees are left for wildlife habitats, ensuring that a diverse range of wildlife can live in the urban natural forest.

The public is encouraged to avoid the area entirely if possible, and if not, then to obey any signs, barricades, and traffic control measures.
