Police investigate suspicious death of a woman in central Alberta lake town

SYLVAN LAKE, Alta. – Police say they are investigating the suspicious death of a 32-year- old woman in central Alberta.

Sylvan Lake RCMP say they responded to a 911 call about an assault at a residence in the lake town, about 20 kilometres west of Red Deer, at 8 p.m. on Sunday.

They say EMS took the woman to hospital, where she was declared dead.

The RCMP’s major crimes unit has taken over the investigation into her death.
