A 27-year-old man from Grande Prairie has died following a collision on the Weyerhaeuser road, south of the City, on Wednesday evening.

Authorities say from a preliminary investigation, an SUV travelling southbound along the road collided with a northbound logging truck.

The 27-year-old driver of the SUV, who is not being identified by RCMP, was taken to the QEII hospital by EMS and STARS by ground sometime after 10 p.m., but later died as a result of his injuries. The logging truck driver was uninjured.

Grande Prairie RCMP and a Collision Analyst continue to investigate this collision.
