Jun 19, 2020 | 12:53 PM

Three people are now facing charges after High Prairie RCMP recovered a stolen vehicle.

On June 11, High Prairie RCMP began an investigation into a theft of a vehicle in Grouard, Alberta.

High Prairie RCMP then received a complaint of a suspicious vehicle on June 12, which was found to have been the stolen vehicle previously reported.

The driver and two occupants were arrested, and a search resulted in RCMP seizing a hand gun, drug trafficking paraphernalia, and quantities of money and methamphetamine.

Twenty-nine-year-old Silas Joshua Thunder of Edmonton, 23-year-old Cheris Thea Gladue of Atikameg First Nations, and a 17-year-old youth of Gift Lake Metis Settlement, who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, are now facing charges.

Thunder is facing charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of stolen property not exceeding $5,000, carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Gladue and the 17-year-old youth are both facing charges of possession of stolen property not exceeding $5,000.

Thunder was released with conditions following a judicial hearing, and both Gladue and the youth have been released. All are scheduled to appear in High Prairie Provincial Court on August 24.
