Valleyview RCMP investigating attempted child luring at Williamson Park

Valleyview RCMP are canvassing for dash cam footage after an attempted child luring incident at Williamson Provincial Park near the boat launch on Thursday evening.
At around 8:11 p.m. on June 18, police were called after a male suspect, driving a white Ford pick-up truck with black fender flares, allegedly tried to approach a five-year-old child who was with a 14-year-old child at the time. It is alleged that the male suspect then tried to lure the five-year-old into the truck, but the 14-year-old was able to intervene and escape the area before calling police.
Valleyview RCMP are now asking anyone who might have dash cam footage from the Williamson Park Road boat launch area, or Williamson Park area between 4 p.m. and dark on June 18 to come forward to RCMP.
Anyone with information regarding this incident, the suspect or the vehicle, is also asked to contact the Valleyview RCMP, their local police or Crime Stoppers.
