Collision at Highway 43, 156 Avenue Monday claims life of Grande Prairie man

A Grande Prairie man has died following a collision at the intersection of Highway 43 and 156 Avenue Monday afternoon.

The collision involved a pickup truck and a semi at around 2:30 p.m. and a preliminary investigation shows the pickup, which was travelling north, collided with the eastbound semi.

The 50-year-old male driver of the pickup was transported to hospital with serious injuries and was later pronounced deceased at the hospital. The driver of the semi was uninjured.

RCMP say they will not release the name of the deceased, and an investigation into the collision by Grande Prairie RCMP and an RCMP Collision Analyst continues.
