The Whitecourt RCMP have laid charges against a man in connection with a bank robbery in Whitecourt over three years ago.
The robbery took place on June 9, 2017 at the Scotiabank at the mid-town mall in Whitecourt, where a lone man wearing a disguise pointed what was believed to be a firearm at employees. The suspect then made off with a large sum of cash.
Now RCMP have arrested and charged the man they allege is responsible for the robbery, that being 33-year-old Matthew James McDavid of Whitecourt.
McDavid is now charged with robbery with a weapon, using an imitation firearm in the commission of an offence and disguise with intent to commit an offence.
