Food Truck Fridays return for summer 2020

Jul 15, 2020 | 12:04 PM

Food Truck Fridays are returning to the Montrose Cultural Centre this summer.

The trucks will be located on the Mamawe Concourse at the Montrose Cultural Centre (outside the Teresa Sargent Hall) every Friday from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Jade Nyland with the Montrose Cultural Centre says this is a great way for Grande Prairie residents to get out of the house and support local businesses.

“For the past two years we’ve had Food Truck Friday’s at the Montrose Cultural Centre and we invite local food trucks to set-up on the concourse. We wanted to create a fun community event that supports local businesses at this time, and we are committed to following all the guidelines outlined in the Alberta Government’s relaunch plan.”

Nyland says that the Food Truck Fridays event is always well received by the community.

“It goes very well. It’s weather dependent of course and the weather has been a little unpredictable these past couple of years, but everyone seems to come out and have a good time.”

The event brings three different food trucks to the Montrose Cultural Centre each week and allows for the public to try some local food trucks.

Every week, Nyland says she and her team try to bring different local food trucks to the location.

Food Truck Fridays runs until August 28. Any updated information about the event will be posted on the Montrose Cultural Centre Facebook page.

In the event of inclement weather, a Food Truck Friday event can be called off.
