RCMP investigating suspicious death in Peace River

Peace Regional RCMP are investigating a suspicious death that occurred on July 16 in Peace River.

At 4:40 p.m. on Thursday, RCMP and EMS responded to a report of an unconscious 42-year-old male outside of an apartment building in the area of 101 Street and 101 Avenue.

RCMP and EMS provided care to the injured man, who succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Alberta RCMP Major Crimes have now taken over the investigation and remain on scene with assistance of RCMP Forensic Identification Services.

At this time, there is not believed to be a risk to the public as a result of the incident.

An autopsy of the males body has been scheduled for July 21 in Edmonton.
