Man charged following suspicious death in Peace River

The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit has arrested and charged 35-year-old Daniel Sawan of Peace River with second degree murder, following an investigation into the death of a 42-year-old man that occurred on Thursday, July 16 in Peace River.

At 4:40 p.m. on Thursday, RCMP and EMS responded to a report of an unconscious 42-year-old male outside of an apartment building in the area of 101 Street and 101 Avenue.

RCMP and EMS provided care to the injured man, who succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Sawan has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Peace River Provincial Court on Monday, July 20.
