Jul 20, 2020 | 2:39 PM

RCMP are continuing to investigate what caused an Ice Explorer vehicle to rollover at the Columbia Icefields which killed three people and injured several others on Saturday.

The ages of the victims that were killed in the rollover have been identified by the RCMP.

The victims have been identified as a 24-year-old female from Canoe Narrows, Saskatchewan, a 28-year-old female from Edmonton and a 58-year-old male from India. RCMP will not release the names of the victims.

RCMP also confirmed that of the remaining occupants who were critically injured in the crash, only four were still considered to be in critical but in stable condition. One occupant was in serious but stable condition.

Authorities are still unable to say what caused the vehicle to rollover, but a RCMP Collision Reconstructionist confirmed that there is no evidence that a rockslide caused the accident.

Over the next several days, while continuing the investigation, RCMP say that they will attempt to remove the Ice Explorer vehicle from the collision site.

Highway 93 remains open at this time to traffic, and RCMP are asking the public to stay clear of the area of the collision.
