Bandaged Paws Animal Rescue Association receives $10,000 donation

Jul 23, 2020 | 5:10 PM

The Bandaged Paws Animal Rescue Association got a big boost on Wednesday, as the non-profit organization was given a $10,000 donation from The GP 100.

The GP 100 is a community-based organization made up of local Grande Prairie men who want to make a difference. The group meets quarterly and nominates and awards charities at each meeting. Since it’s inception, The GP 100 has raised over $75,000 for charities in the Peace Region.

This time around they decided to donate to Bandaged Paws, as they’ve had a busy year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

As of now, Bandaged Paws says that it’s nearing 600 animals at their shelter, with many that are still waiting for a safe space. According to the shelter, their population for animals has grown exponentially in the last few years with no signs of slowing down.

With this donation, Bandaged Paws says they will put the money towards getting back to their regular capacity and continuing to grow as an organization.

In a Facebook post, Bandaged Paws adds that because of The GP 100’s donation, it will help the group ensure that it can meet the needs of their community members and all the animals that need help.

For those interested in donating to Bandaged Paws, the organization will be having a yard sale on Saturday, July 24, at its shelter. It will go from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
