Grande Prairie RCMP have arrested two males and a youth following searches that led to the seizure of drugs and weapons.

On July 18, several RCMP resources conducted search warrants at four homes, one storage locker and two vehicles as part of a drug trafficking investigation by the Grande Prairie RCMP’s Municipal Drug Enforcement Unit.

The search resulted in the seizure of 34 grams of cocaine, eight grams of methamphetamine, and eight grams of fentanyl.

Police also seized a 12-gauge pump action shotgun, shotgun shells, two .40 caliber pistol magazines containing ammunition and over $15,000. A Dodge Ram 1500 truck was also seized as offence-related property.

Two males from Edmonton, aged 24 and 29 and a youth from Fort McMurray were all arrested.

All three have been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking of methamphetamine, fentanyl and cocaine, as well as several Criminal Code weapons charges.

The names of the men have not been released by RCMP.

All three men were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court on August 26.
