No injuries were reported after a fire at a home east of Grande Prairie Tuesday evening.

The County of Grande Prairie Regional Fire Service responded to the home, located on Range Road 45 and Township Road 714, at around 7:30 p.m. on August 4. Flames and heavy smoke were seen coming from the roof as crews arrived on scene from Bezanson, Clairmont, Dunes, and Teepee Creek, as well as from the Wembley and Sexsmith Fire Departments.

Crews quickly established a water supply and brought the fire under control within a half an hour, limiting damage to one area of the house. The home did receive significant smoke damage, though many personal belongings were saved.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the County Fire Marshal.
