Grande Prairie’s Bidewell signs with Notre Dame Jr. A Hounds

Grande Peace Ernie’s Sports U18 AAA Storm goaltender McCoy Bidewell could be heading to Wilcox, Saskatchewan next season.

It was announced last week that Bidewell has signed with the Notre Dame Hounds of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL).

The 17-year-old Grande Prairie native appeared in 17 games for the AAA Storm last season, where he finished with a .906 save percentage and 2.70 goals-against average. He also appeared in all five playoff games last season for the Storm.

At this moment, there is no set date on when the SJHL plans on returning to play.

However, in an article posted on Prince Albert Now, SJHL Commissioner Bill Chow said that the league plans on playing a full season in 2020-21.
