Suspicious behaviour leads to seizure of firearms, drugs in Dawson Creek

Aug 11, 2020 | 11:02 AM

Dawson Creek RCMP have nabbed two suspects following the discovery of multiple firearms, drugs and cash.

RCMP in the Mile Zero City were alerted of suspicious activity by customers at a local business on Friday, August 7. The caller described the individuals and the vehicle they were driving.

Authorities say the reported vehicle was spotted leaving a known drug house in Dawson Creek a short time later, and when police attempted to stop the vehicle but the suspects fled. Though they made multiple attempts to flee, police were able to arrest both suspects without further incident.

Upon initial inspection, police discovered an allegedly stolen 9 mm Chiappa rifle with a loaded magazine, a box of 9 mm ammunition, and “a metal airsoft handgun with a live .22 calibre round in the breech”.

Authorities also searched two homes in Dawson Creek on Monday, August 10, where they further discovered suspected cocaine, meth and fentanyl, over $4,000 in cash and multiple firearms.
