County to provide $10-million for Highway 40 twinning project
County of Grande Prairie Council has approved a $10-million contribution towards the project that will see 19 kilometres of Highway 40 twinned, and an additional bridge built over the Wapiti River.
Reeve Leanne Beaupre says the amount of funding is proportional to the amount of road that’s within the County of Grande Prairie’s boundary. She adds that it will help take the burden off the M.D. of Greenview, who previously announced that they would contribute half the cost of the project, up to $60-million, over the next two years.

Beaupre says the Provincial Government, the other partner in this project, is still doing preliminary work.
