Town of Beaverlodge launches Frequent Shopper Program to encourage shopping local

The Town of Beaverlodge has partnered with 33 local businesses in the town to create a Frequent Shopper Program.

The program allows residents shopping in Beaverlodge to pick up a free shopper’s reward card and get a stamp every time they spend $15 or more at one of the participating local businesses.

A card could be stamped up to nine times and once the card is fully stamped, it gets entered into a draw for a weekly prize.

Cindy Corbett, a Councillor with the Town of Beaverlodge, says this program is a great way to get residents to shop local.

“It all goes into with the COVID-19 because AHS is encouraging people to stay at home. You have to stay at home, and you can’t go on vacation. So why not shop local and then get a reward?”

You can pick up the card at any of the 33 selected businesses or the town office.

Once your card is fully filled, you can drop it off at one of the 33 businesses, and someone from the town will pick it up and add it to the main draw box for the program’s weekly prize draw.

The card that is fully filled out will also be entered into the grand prize draw on October 13.

Corbett says there is a lot of cool prizes for people to get.

“Some of the prizes are just amazing. Our top prize right now is a tow for up to $150, UFA gave us $100 gift cards for shopping in their store and we have grocery stores (making) little gift boxes.”

According to Corbett, excitement is building for the program.

“People are already talking about it, it’s going to be an amazing campaign.”

Corbett tells EverythingGP that if the program is proven to be successful, she hopes that it can return next year.
