Major Crimes investigating suspicious death in Grande Prairie

UPDATE #1: Grande Prairie RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance from anyone who may have heard the sound of gunshots or anything similar in the area of Mountainview Manor in Grande Prairie, between August 11, 2020 around 8:00 p.m. until around 1:00 a.m. on August 12, 2020.
Mounties are asking anyone with surveillance or dash cam footage in the area’s of 93 Street and 108 Avenue during the time frame above to please share it with them by contacting Grande Prairie RCMP at 780-830-5700.
The RCMP Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation into a suspicious death of a 23-year-old Grande Prairie woman in the Mountainview Manor area on Tuesday.
Authorities say she is believed to have passed away in her home and police were notified shortly after 11:18 p.m. on August 11. They are asking anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in that area between 8 p.m. on August 11 and 1 a.m. August 12 to come forward to the Grande Prairie RCMP at 780-830-5700 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
