UPDATE: Early morning power outage resolved

UPDATE #3 : ATCO says the power outage affecting the Mountview and Summit neighbourhoods Monday has been resolved.

UPDATE #2 (9:45 a.m.): ATCO Electric now says 717 customers are still without power in the Mountview and Summit neighbourhoods in Grande Prairie.

ATCO’s crews are on scene. The power provider estimates that work will be complete and power will be restored by 11:30 a.m.

UPDATE #1 (7:30 a.m.): ATCO has updates its map of the outage in the Mountview area, though it’s also lowered the amount of affected customers.

The power provider says the outage is affecting 180 customers, and crews are on the scene working to determine the cause, and restore power by 8:30 a.m.

Close to 845 Grande Prairie residents are without power early Monday morning.

ATCO Electricity says the power went out in the Mountview neighbourhood at approximately 5:35 a.m. on Monday, and that work is underway to determine the cause of the outage, and to restore power.

ATCO says power is expected to be restored around 8:00 a.m.
