Man, dog killed along Peace Region roadway

Peace Regional RCMP say a 28-year-old man and his dog died along a road near Reno on Monday.

Mounties say that sometime between 10 p.m. on Sunday and 9 a.m. on Monday, two men were travelling in a pickup truck along Township Road 812 when it went off the road, hit a culvert, and ended up in a creek.

One man, who police believe to be the passenger was found inside the truck. He had non-life-threatening injuries.

The other man and his dog were found dead about 2.5 kilometres away. RCMP believe he was the driver of the truck that crashed and are trying to establish if he was going for help.

RCMP think both were on the roadway and were hit by a vehicle. The man was wearing a red hoodie, with a black ball cap and black sweats. The dog was a black Lab.
