Wembley man wins $100,000 in lottery

Ken Earnshaw of Wembley has taken home $100,000 after matching the last six digits of the winning EXTRA number on a LOTTO MAX ticket for the April 14 draw.

Earnshaw checked his lotto numbers on the Lotto Spot! app, and in a release from Western Canada Lottery Corp., he said he was “shocked and excited.”

After checking the numbers online, he took the ticket to Corner Grocery in Wembley, where he had originally bought the ticket, and verified his win.

Though the draw took place on April 14, Earnshaw delayed cashing in his ticket because the COVID-19 pandemic had forced the lottery prize offices to close to the public.

Earnshaw has now claimed his prize, but still doesn’t have a plan for the money, saying “nothing special planned for it yet, so it’ll just go in the bank for now.”
