Whitecourt man scratches his way to lottery win

A Whitecourt man turned a driving lesson for his daughter earlier this summer into a huge financial windfall.

Although not a regular Zing scratch ticket player, Anthony Paine took a break from the early July driving lesson to purchase an Alberta Gold ticket.

With his daughter behind the wheel, Paine scratched the ticket to reveal he had won $100,000.

Paine claimed the prize late last month and says he plans to use some of the winnings to pay down his mortgage and do some home renovations.
