Kaiden Guhle selected by Montreal Canadiens in 2020 NHL Draft
Former Grande Prairie Minor Hockey player Kaiden Guhle has been selected 16th overall by the Montreal Canadiens in the first round of the 2020 NHL Draft.
Guhle spent from 2006-2010 playing minor hockey in Grande Prairie, before his family moved to Sherwood Park, Alberta.
Over the last two-and-a-half years, Guhle has spent his junior hockey career with the Prince Albert Raiders of the WHL. This past season, the 6’2″ defenceman registered 40 points in 64 games and was ranked seventh among North American skaters in this year’s NHL Draft.
Kaiden is the second Guhle to be selected in the NHL Draft. His brother Brendan was selected 51st overall in 2015 draft by the Buffalo Sabres. Brendan spent two years playing with the GPAC Storm from 2009-2011, and is currently a member of the Anaheim Ducks organization.
