No new COVID-19 cases in City of Grande Prairie, one in County

After reporting over 200 new COVID-19 cases over the past three days, Alberta added 143 new cases for October 6.

Of those new cases, none were reported in the City of Grande Prairie, which remains with 19 active cases. One new case was reported in the County of Grande Prairie, which now has four active cases.

Updated case totals among Peace Region municipalities as of the end of day October 7 are as follows:

  • City of Grande Prairie: 115 cases (19 active, 94 recovered, two deaths)
  • County of Grande Prairie: 64 cases (four active, 60 recovered)
  • M.D. of Greenview: 16 cases (one active, 14 recovered, one death)
  • Birch Hills County: Three cases (all recovered)
  • M.D. of Spirit River: 11 cases (all recovered)
  • Saddle Hills County: Two cases (one active, one recovered)
  • M.D. of Smoky River: 74 cases (one active, 63 recovered, ten deaths)
  • Big Lakes County: 48 cases (43 recovered, five deaths)
  • M.D. of Lesser Slave River: 18 cases (one active, 16 recovered, one death)
  • M.D. of Peace: 26 cases (two active, 24 recovered)
  • M.D. of Fairview: 16 cases (all recovered)
  • Clear Hills County: 89 cases (two active, 86 recovered, one death)
  • Northern Sunrise County: Nine cases (all recovered)
  • County of Northern Lights: 55 cases (all recovered)
  • Mackenzie County: 414 cases (10 active, 391 recovered, 13 deaths)

Active cases increased by 10 to 1,910 in Alberta, while 17,163 cases are considered recovered. No new deaths were reported in the province, keeping the death toll at 281.

Hospitalizations increased to 66 in the province, with 13 of those individuals admitted into an ICU. In the North Zone, there are five people in hospital, none of whom are in intensive care.

A total of 13,610 tests were processed at the provincial lab on Tuesday.
