Six charged in Gift Lake drive-by shooting

Oct 14, 2020 | 2:12 PM

Six people have been charged in connection to a drive-by shooting in the community of Gift Lake Metis Settlement earlier this month.

RCMP from the Gift Lake Metis Enhanced Unit, Atikameg First Nations Enhanced Unit, as well as the High Prairie and Faust RCMP detachments, responded to reports on the morning of October 4. Authorities located what was believed to be the vehicle involved in the shooting and attempted to stop it. However, all the occupants of the vehicle fled on foot into a remote area of Atikameg First Nation.

High Prairie RCMP’s Police Dog Services were brought in to assist in the search for the suspects, where five suspects were located and arrested. Two other suspects were brought into custody after further investigation, who were believed to be involved in the shooting.

In all, six suspects face charges, including pointing a firearm with intent, flight from police, assault, breach of court orders, and other firearms offences.

Those charged in this case include:

  • 30-year-old Bobby Fawn Auger of Peace River
  • 30-year-old Greg Glen Auger of Gift Lake Metis Settlement
  • 43-year-old Terilynn Marie Auger, 23-year-old Yasmine Clarrice Grey, 26-year-old Kelsey Tamara Grey, and 25-year-old Nathan Cody Tallman, all of Atikameg First Nation

Bobby Auger, Yasmine Grey, and Kelsey Grey remain in custody following judicial hearings, while the others have been released from custody. All six are due in High Prairie Provincial Court on October 19.
