Two new COVID-19 cases reported in City of Grande Prairie

The City of Grande Prairie remains under a COVID-19 watch status, as there were two new cases identified in the Swan City for Tuesday, October 13.

The new cases bring the active case total to 43 in the City of Grande Prairie, to go along with 103 recoveries and two deaths.

No new cases were identified in either the County of Grande Prairie or MD of Greenview on Tuesday, where there remain five and one active cases, respectively.

Across Alberta, there were 243 new cases reported on Tuesday.

Updated case totals among Peace Region municipalities as of the end of day October 13 are as follows:

  • City of Grande Prairie: 148 cases (43 active, 103 recovered, two deaths)
  • County of Grande Prairie: 67 cases (five active, 62 recovered)
  • M.D. of Greenview: 17 cases (one active, 15 recovered, one death)
  • Birch Hills County: Five cases (two active, three recovered)
  • M.D. of Spirit River: 14 cases (three active, 11 recovered)
  • Saddle Hills County: Three cases (one active, two recovered)
  • M.D. of Smoky River: 75 cases (two active, 63 recovered, ten deaths)
  • Big Lakes County: 48 cases (three active, 43 recovered, five deaths)
  • M.D. of Lesser Slave River: 18 cases (17 recovered, one death)
  • M.D. of Peace: 28 cases (three active, 25 recovered)
  • M.D. of Fairview: 16 cases (all recovered)
  • Clear Hills County: 92 cases (two active, 89 recovered, one death)
  • Northern Sunrise County: Nine cases (all recovered)
  • County of Northern Lights: 58 cases (two active, 56 recovered)
  • Mackenzie County: 414 cases (six active, 395 recovered, 13 deaths)

Active cases grew by 74 in the province to 2,689, to go along with 18,223 recoveries. One more fatality linked to COVID-19 was recorded as well, bringing the COVID-19 death toll in the province to 287.

Hospitalizations in the province sit at 100, 87 of which are in either Edmonton or Calgary (48 in Edmonton, 39 in Calgary). Of those hospitalizations, 14 are in intensive care.

In the North Zone, there remains six people in hospital with two in an ICU.

Tuesday’s rise in cases comes after 14,881 tests were processed at the provincial lab. In the North Zone, 112,386 people have been tested, an increase of 659 people from the day prior.
