RCMP recover property stolen from Mighty Peace Golf Club

On October 15, Peace Regional RCMP were called to a report of a break and enter at the Mighty Peace Golf Club in Grimshaw.

Police say a suspect had broken into the Golf Club and stole a large number of items, including golf equipment, food, liquor, clothing and other items.

Mounties say that they and the club’s staff were able to track down the suspect to a nearby location. He was found in possession of the stolen items, as well as suspected controlled substances and a makeshift firearm.

RCMP have charged 32-year-old Anthony Aaron Roshuk of Nampa with the following:

• Break and enter with intent (two counts)
• Possession of property obtained by crime
• Possession of a prohibited weapon
• Possession of a controlled substance (three counts)
• Obstructing a peace officer
• Failing to comply with conditions of a release order (eight counts)

Roshuk has been remanded into custody pending the outcome of a bail hearing. It is scheduled for Monday in Peace River Provincial Court.

Police also say Roshuk was arrested on several outstanding warrants from jurisdictions around the Peace Country.

A warrant was issued after he failed to show up in Peace River court for sentencing August 3, after pleading guilty to three of seven charges related to a January 2019 arrest in High Prairie.

He and Marisa Lalonde, also from Nampa, were charged after Mounties found a weapon, drugs, weigh scales, packing materials and some stolen property during a vehicle search.

Alberta Justice says Lalonde is due to stand trial January 13 in High Prairie.

Both were also wanted on outstanding warrants at the time of that arrest as well.
