Kaliel solid as Storm double up Wolverines

Veteran netminder and Grande Prairie native Lars Kaliel made 35 saves in the AJHL pre season debut, as the Grande Prairie Storm doubled up Whitecourt 4-2 at Revolution Place on Friday night.

Fort St John product Curtis Hammond scored a power play goal into an empty net late in the third period, and added an assist on Lukas Konashuk’s goal just 31 seconds into the opening period.

Nathaniel Bierd and Hudson Foley also scored for the Storm, who held period leads of 2-1 and 3-2.

Ryan Wallz and Jacob Boucher scored for the Wolverines, with Grande Prairie native Jayden Watson helping to set up the Boucher goal.
