A Peace River man is facing 22 charges after police in Spirit River recovered a stolen pick-up truck, following a short chase on October 16.

On Friday night at around 9:30 p.m., Spirit River RCMP were called out to a suspicious vehicle parked at the UFA in Rycroft. Police believed it had been stolen.

As Mounties arrived and approached the vehicle to speak with the driver, who was the lone occupant, the suspect drove into the stopped police vehicle. As authorities ordered the man to stop, police say he struck the police vehicle again, then hit an occupied vehicle in the parking lot before fleeing.

Police say the occupant of the hit vehicle was not injured, nor were any officers.

RCMP trailed the suspect along Highway 49 for about 8 km before the suspect got out of the truck and fled into a residence.

A short time later, after RCMP received help from additional resources and a police dog, Mounties entered the home and arrested the suspect. Authorities allege the suspect was in possession of 273 vehicle keys and vehicle diagnostic equipment, including a key coder, upon a search of the home and suspect.

Investigation showed the truck involved in this incident was in fact stolen and the suspect was wanted on several outstanding warrants in Fairview and Peace River.

Now, 40-year-old Jesse William Jackson is facing charges that include:
