Grande Prairie MLA Tracy Allard tests positive for COVID-19
Grande Prairie MLA and Minister of Municipal Affairs Tracy Allard has tested positive for COVID-19 and is self-isolating at home with mild symptoms, according to a statement from the province.
In an emailed statement to EverythingGP, the province says Allard was notified of the positive test result Wednesday. She was notified as being a close contact of someone who had tested positive over the weekend and has been in isolation since that time.
As a result of being a close contact to the minister, Premier Jason Kenney has entered self-isolation and is being tested.
Minister Ric McIver and MLAs Angela Pitt, Peter Guthrie and Nathan Neudorff have also entered self-isolation as they were close contacts of Allard last week. None of those individuals are showing symptoms, according to the statement.
