What is being described as an ice plant meltdown, the Fort St. John Curling Club has been forced to cancel their 2020-21 season.
In a release posted to their Facebook page, the club says that on October 17, the meltdown caused the compressors and condenser to shut down.
It was later determined that the freon circuits on the chiller were leaking into the brine.
For safety reasons, the plant has been shut down and the season has been cancelled.
