City of Grande Prairie recruiting public for boards and committee positions

The City of Grande Prairie has 35 seats available on eight different boards and committees, and is encouraging members of the public to apply to fill them.

The boards and committees review material and alternatives, work within the community, and provide advice and recommendations to City Council.

The newest committee created by the City is the Community Advisory Committee, which provides advice a range of matters relating to recreation and cultural projects, ongoing engagement activities, community improvement, community pride and events, and grant funding opportunities.

The boards and committees with available seats include:

  • Combative Sports Commission – 2 vacancies
  • Community Advisory Committee – 11 vacancies
  • Community Knowledge Campus (CKC) Advisory Committee – 3 vacancies
  • Economic Development Strategic Planning & Advisory Committee – 7 vacancies
  • Grande Prairie Airport Commission – 3 vacancies
  • Grande Prairie Public Library Board – 2 vacancies
  • Municipal Policing Advisory Committee – 5 vacancies
  • Subdivision & Development Appeal Board – 2 vacancies
